Ratnindranath wrote in his diary that at the middle if December, 1920, Mrs Miller, a friend of the family of Carniegie invited Rabindranath, Some Professors of Columbia University and some other rich men in a party in her house. Rabindranath delivered a lecture on Viswa Bharati and his plan to implement that. All persons present listenedhis lecture attentively and did not comment before or after the lecture.
Within very few days Rabindranath went to attend an invitation of Mrs English Walling in the locality of Greenwich in New York.Her husband once became a well known person for his articles towards Socialism but had changed his mind recently during the war time.Though his wife Mrs Walling popularly known in her maiden name Anna Strunsky( Anna Strunsky Walling (1877–1964) was an early 20th Century American author and proponent of socialism. Her work focused on social problems, literature, and the labor movement) did not change her opinion regarding Socialism and maintained her relation unaltered with her husband.She formed a committee to contribute to the fund of Viswa Bharati which though did not yield good result but her attempt was praiseworthy.
