New York Review Reported on 6th Nov, "Tagore Plays to be produced by Mr. Faversham.
Rabindranath in a previous communication expressed his favourable opinion to the Non-Co-operation movement launched by Congress under the leadership of Gandhiji but swubsequently its support to the demands of Khilafat and the news of visit of its leader Saukat Ali to santiniketan annoyed him ande he wrote to Andrews on 4th Nov;
"Keep Santiniketan away from the turmoils of politics. I know, that the political problem is growing in intensity in India and its encroachment is difficult to resist. But, all the same we must never forget that our mission is not political. Where I have my politics, I do not belong to Santiniketan.... If Shaukat ali can come to Santiniketan and talk to our boys about his fanatical programme then it will be difficult for me to ask students from all parts of the world to come there and accept from India her gift of peace and wisdom."
