Rabindranath in Europe (contd-5)- 1921

On 24th April,  at the initiative of Societe Amis de l'Orient a dinner party was arranged at Cercle Internallie situated in 33 Faubourg St. Honore. Many important persons were invited. Rathindranath termed this as a ceremonious occasion. After dinner Mr. m. Copean read the French translated version of Dakghar.
Rabindranath wrote to Rolland on this date ,
" Knowing that you are invited at the dinner in the house of Andre Karpelles , I hope it will be possible for you to accept her invitation and give us opportunity to meet you once again."

On 25th April, Rabindranath read the essay "The spirit of Indian Public". The meeting was jointly presided by M.Pauk Appell, president of Paris University and M.Croiset, Director and prof. of College de France. organised by Comite National d'Etudes Sociales & Philitiques founded by Palais de Justce.This essay is a combination of "East and West" and 'The Modern age' of the book "Creative Unity".
The sociologist M. Cestre translated the English version into French.
On 26th April Rabindranath attend a lunch offered by Sir Thomas Barelay.
In the morning of 27th April Rabindranarth, Rathindranath, Pratima, and Bomanji became guest of Andre Karpelles.and in the evening they went to Strass Bourg by train.
