Viswa Bharati and Rabindranath-1922 (contd-1)

Bishi, Pramathanath (1901-1985) writer and educationist, was born on 11 June 1901 at Joari in rajshahi, the son of Nalininath Bishi and Sarojbasini Devi. He studied for seventeen years at Brahma Vidyalaya in santiniketan, where he became closely acquainted with rabindranath tagore.
On 5th Baisakh [18th April 1922 ],  the full moon session of Ashram Sammilani was held and a drama written by Pramatha Nath Bishi and Bibhuti Bhushan Gupta titled " Birbhumeshwar Parajay". The drama was witnessed by Gurudev, ntional and international  guest lecturers of Viswa Bharati, local villagers and others.All the spectators present were satisfied.
In every year a drama written by Rabindranath was staged. This was the first exception.
" Santiniketan" wrote, "the drama was staged at the Gourgopal Mancha. Gour Gopal mancha was constructed to commemorate the untimely death of Gour Gopal. But the stage was earmarked by his name before his untimely death."
Rabindranath had to attend many program-mes while he remained in Santiniketan. The essay "Banglay Manasa Puja" written by Kshitimohan Sen
Educationist and writer, was born on 2 December 1880 in Benares, son of Bhubanmohan Sen, a physician whose ancestral home was in Vikrampur, Dhaka ) was published in Ashar-issue of Pravasi. In the foot note of the book he wrote, " The essay was read in a meeting of Santiniketan on 10th Baishakh. Rabindranath Tagore presided over the meeting. He gave some of his advices during perusal."
