Viswa Bharati and Leonard Elmhirst (contd-20)

Leonard Elmhirst was made the Director of the School of Agriculture on 6th Feb, 1922 to work extensible for the welfare of the  villages. But still the name of the place was not circulated as Siniketan.The name Sriniketan was first notified in the manuscript of Gitali by Rabindranath on 19 Bhadra 1321 [5th Sep, 1914]. Satyadas Chakraborty wrote;
" It was first referred as " Sriniketan Samity" in place of "Surul Samity" in the annual meeting of Viswa Bharati Society held on 26th Dec 1923 to ammend its constitution. "Institute of Rural Reconstruction " of  Sriniketan was also first used at the same time.  The name Sriniketan was widely used from the Magh-issue of Santiniketan  .
The constitution of Viswa Bharati was registered on 16 May 1922 [2 Jaistha 1328]. It was mentioned in the constitution the time of formation of Surul Samity [ Surul Agricultural Board] and the time of making him as the Surul Sachib .

Kalimohan Ghosh and Gour Gopal Ghosh were nominated as the member of Governing body.
In the asset list of Viswa Bharati it was recorded -
1. The amount of land in Surul- 100 bighas, which costs Rs. 12,600.00, and
2. The value of the movable property is Rs.54,960/-
