Rabindranath back to Calcutta and Santiniketan

Kalidas Nag wrote in his diary on 17th Mar, " When I was returning home in the afternoon I, suddenly, found the Poet in a car. I got down from tram and managed to get my seat in his car - we had many gossips.
On 19th Mar,  a get together was held  in Bichitra at at 6.30 P.M. - subject " Tour Programme" of Rabindranath Tagore. In this meeting Rabindranath narrated his experience about his recent tour.
He cut short his programme due to his illness.  But he could not take rest here. He had to attend a huge gathering in New Empire in the evening on 21st Mar, 1919. He read the essay " The Centre of Indian Culture" . This meeting was called for introducing the ideals of Santiniketan and the fund collected from the selling of tickets would be contributed to the development of Santiniketan. Several important persons such as Jagadish Chandra Basu and his wife, Ashutosh Choudhury, Prof. Gedes, Principal Jonston, Brajendra Nath Seal, Sarala Roy, Andrews, Prankrishna Acharyya, Abanindranath and others. The news papers had publicised the occasion.
He came  back to Santiniketan on the next day, 22nd Mar.
The two storied building of Pearson had already been constructed and it was decided that Rabindranath would stay here on the 2nd floor and Dinendranath with his wife would stay in Deoli.
Rabindranath met with the responsible persons of the Asram in his room on the 2nd floor. He distributed the books he brought in his tour.
On 24th Mar he read the essay " The Centre of Indian Culture" in the room fixed for his residence in the new arrangement.
The professors and teachers met with Rabindranath on 25th Mar.
On 27th Mar he started for Kashi accompanying Dinendranath and Andrews.
