Rabindranath and Viswa Bharati (contd-5)

A tremendous arrangements had been made for teaching Eastern and Western education which was reflected in the essay "Bidya Samabaya" written by Rabindranath. Indians had to learn English and modern Scientce as developed in Europe for its mental progress but this should not be done neglecting our own heritage.Rabindranath mentioned, " Our learning had been kept ostracized for long time. There are two ways of keeping ostracized ; one, by constant neglect, two, by high applause of others attainment. But the result is same. Both of them damages the glory the glory of a country."
In his opinion, the independence of learning of a nation is not prevailing today. Now, this is the age of co-operation of leaning. So we must have a place for practicing this where experiment of give and  take  policy of learning and comparison between them may be done. Where the Indian knowledge will be in comparison with other knowledge. To do that one must know all the details of different branches of Indian knowledge. It was then mixed with the knowledge of Pesia and Islamia. At lats the European knowledge had flooded knowledge base of India. it was not possible to prevent them rather it ought not to be prevented. Therefore our knowledge bank is enriched with the knowledge of Vedic, Ancient, Budhist, Jainist, Islamic, Persic, and Europeanic." In fact , from the very beginning Viswa Bharati was practicing this methodology. And the the area of its practice was  extending.
Having read in a monthly journal of America about practical training Rabindranath wrote his own idea on this subject in the essay "Udyog Shiksha".. After establishing school at Santiniketan Rabindranath was trying to implement all sorts of practical training in his Asram.
Rabindranath was concerned about the alround training of students and expressed it in "Manobikasher Chanda".
