Sudhirendranarayan Sinha, the writer of "Sreehatte Rabindranath", came to Badarpur station for welcoming Rabindrsnath. The ex-student Manoranjan Choudhury and his wife Indumati, also an ex-student, lived there at that time. They accompanied Rabindranath upto Kulauda Station where they halted for the night in the train. On the next day, 4th Nov, they started for Sylet. On the way the train halted for Maijgnao, Baramchal, Phechuganj where Rabindranath were greeted by the local important persons.
Rabindranath got separately in a horse drven car with Maulavi Abdul Karim (1863-1943). The students of the schools and Colleges removed the horses and began to pull the cart inspite of opposition by Rabindranath. Thomas Missionary European provided him with a bunglow at the north-east corner of the city. At this place also he was greeted with flowers and Chandan paste.
At evening 7 pm Rabindranath did his meditation in local temple of Brahma Samaj.At first he sung he song " Bina Bajao he mama antare'.
On 4th Nov at the Sylhet station he was greeted with joy and fire works by the persons present at the station. Many important persons of Sylhet came to welcome him. In a well decorated boat Rabindranath and in a Bojra Rathindranath, pratima and others were taken to Chandnighat. Chandnighat was also decorated with flowers and leaves and red carpet was spread on the stairs of the ghat.Here he was greeted in Eastern style with Chandan and by blowing conch-shell.
