Rabindranath and Viswa Bharati (contd-4)

A huge activity was stared in Santiniketan to organize Viswa Bharati. The department of Agriculture and the department of  horticulture was growing. Santosh Kumar Mitra had been given the charge of organizing  the agricultural department in  the estate of Surul. The farm for livestock also had also been shifted to this place.A house was being constructed there as the residence of the ex-students with their financial aid but since they could not fulfill their promised  amount, it was finished by taking loan from Ashram. A land was purchased by the side of the  rail line and thousands of lemon trees were planted there.
Rabindranath kept himself busy in these affairs of Viswa Bharati. He wrote his present daily routine  to Pramatha Choudhury on 30th July 1919;
" I am doing teaching job in full swing. I can keep my mind aloof from all sorts of tensions, tales of grief , incident of dishonour etc."
After the summer vacation Nanda Lal Basu joined in Santiniketan to teach painting to students. Surendranath Kar, another Drawing teacher, joined last year. Two students from Madras joined Viswa Bharati under their influence. They started to teach art and craft in a separate building known as Kala Bhaban. Rabindranath came back from Calcutta on 7th Aug, 1919 and under his Presidentship the full-moon ceremony (Barsha Mangal) was held in the Asram.In Bhadra-issue of Santiniketan it was published that the Barsha Mangal cremony took place in the Asram on 11 Aug,1919, where Dinendranth and Bhim Rao Sashtri sung songs accompanied by Tabla and Esraj which was applauded.
On 17 Aug, the students played foot-ball with Mohanbagan Athletic Club.In the evening Dinendranath and   Nakuleshwar sung many songs with the help of the students for recreation of  the players in the New Building of Rabindranath known as Kala Bhaban.
A few days ago, Nakuleswar Babu joined Viswa Bharati to teach instrumental music. An advertisement was  published in "Santinikeatan " to inform the students would be enrolled in "Asrame Sangeet Siksha".
