The poems of 'Sishu' was written in a new manuscript.The copy book was, probably, belonged to Nalinibala Roychoudhury, wife of brother-in-law of Rabindranath. It was a gift as a calender of 1901 to her by The Universal Exercise Book of A.C.Paul & Co., in which the names of Srimati Nalinibala Devi, Renuka, Rajlakshmi, Atasilata Devi(Mira), Shamindranath, Rabindranath, and Rathindranth were written with immature hand writing.
The manuscript was given as a gift to Satyendra Dutta who had written about this in the page no.76:
"The manuscript of the Kabya Grantha 'Sishu' was given to me, on this date, as a gift by Sreeyukta Rabindranath Thakur./Sree Satyendranath Dutta/31 Bhadra 1316 (Thursday Sep 1909) and on each page it was inscribed by a rubber stamp 'Satyendranath Dutta/46 Masjid Bari Street, Kolikata.'
Kanai Samanta had written in detail, as an essay, about this manuscript titled 'Rabindra Pandulipi', published in Shrabana-Ashwin issue of Viswabharati magazine.
In the manuscript there was no dates written on any of the poetry. now it is a matter of speculation. But the dates are known from the correspondence of Mohit Chandra with Rabindranath. Rabindranath had written the poems serially and wrote letters to Mohit Chandra mentioning them.
On Sunday, (10 Shrabana , 26 July) Mohit Chandra wrote,
" 5 poems titled 'Sishu' have been received by me, those are very nice- Shailesh has snatched away those lest I would have got it into heart." I feel wonder about your unconsciousself. I know, the condition of your mind is heavy now. Even in this state of mind, how your heart is full of childish attitude, is unbelievable to me. To put the title of the poems were not easy enough, still you have given one as "khoka" , you may excuse me if I write the title of the other three poems as, "Nirlipta", "Shaisab Chaturi", "Keno Madhur?"
Rabindranath had made short the title as "Chaturi" for Shaisab Chaturi. From next time, Rabindranath wrote the poems, sent them to Mohit Chandra and asked him to put the ttles.
Mohit Chandra wrote Rabindranath on 21st Shraban that he had given titles of 8 poems out of 11, in rely of which Rabindranath wrote that ,
" do you want to leave it for my readers home work?'
Rabindranath recognized that the poems of "Sishu" were a transferred thought of the memoir of Mrinalini. He felt the union with the mother of her children by writing poems for them.
