Before going to Foreign in 1920, Rabindranath came to Santiniketan from Calcutta on 9th May, 1920 with Rathi, Pratima Devi, Mira, and Andrews.Stayed here for two days and then went Bombay via Calcutta on 12 May. Manjushree [1907-1980], the daughter of Surendranath and maid-servant Sadhucharan accompanied them from Calcutta. After returning from Oxford Rabindranath started for Cambridge by train at 1.30 pm on the next day and took Pearson with him. Rathindranath and Pratima Devi went to a tea-party in the house of Lady Roberts and then moved by train in the night to that place.on greeted them in the station.
On 26th June Rabindranath along with Pearson went to Petersfield in the house of Sir Muirhead Bone[1876-1953] to stay there for a week. For want of space in Petersfield, Pratima and Rathindra remained in London. They went to meet Yeats in the evening.
It was revealed from the diary of Rathindranath that when he was preparing arrangements of an operation of Pratima Devi, he received a telegram from Pearson that Rabindranath had changed his mind and going to America. Rabindranath did not know that Pratima had been operated on that day.
Pratima Devi was operated and when she became fit for moving Rathindranath took her to Paris in a boarding house near the rsidence of Andre Carpellese. Pratima was undergoing some vocational trainging . Mon Menhot was training her about ceramic painting and Batick print of Java and Mon Piot Fresko's method of painting.which she practiced in Kala Bhavan of Santiniketan.
20th Nov Rathindranath and Pratima started for America in S.S.France ship.

on 10 July Rabindranath along with Pearson and Pratima Devi went to the house of Prof and Mrs Hare Leonard to Bristol to pass a week there Prof Leonard came to Santiniketan with his wife a few days back. Rathindranath could not go as he was busy to meet with an Enginner Mr.Gupta coming from Manchester for talking with him regarding a workshop to be installed in Santiniketan. Rabindranath went to see the burial of Rammohan Roy in Bristol.
Pratima devi, Pearson , Kiran Sankar Roy and Kedarnath Dasgupta signed the visitor's book kept in the Arno's Vale Cemetary.
Five unpublished poems of Rabindranath in dramatic form were staged by Union of East and West of England in the Wigmore Hall. Rabindranath himself directed the dramas and Rathindranath and Pratima took the charge of dressing and painting the artists. There was no background scenery. Only a blue curtain was hung up at the back.
Having learnt that Rabindrabnath had given up the plan of going to
America, Rathindranath went to Holland from England for an urgent operation of Pratima.
