Rabindranth in America -- San Diego (contd-17)

Rabindranath came to San Diego, a city touching the border line of Maxico and remained as a guest in the house of  Mr. G.S.Davidson, President of San Diego Exposition. In the evening he read the essay, "The Cult of Nationalism" in Isis Theater. George Wharton James of San Diego Union wrote;
" Whether his audience agrees him on lecture last night or not, there can be no question that everyone will listen to all Tagore has to say with the keenest attention...San Diego" will be made wiser andbetter for the presence and speech of this great, noble and good Oriental. After few days, on 28th Oct, Dramatic Mirror of New York published the news;
" Sir Rabindranath Tagore .... appeared before a packed audience at the Isis  Theater on 11th Oct . Mme. Edna Darch sang two  of the poet's own songs, at the opening." A photograph of Rabindranath with the inscription "Feeding the Pegions at the San Diego Exposition" was published  in New York City Times on 19th Nov.
