In the morning of 7th Dec Rabindranath came to Northampton and in the evening he addressed an audience in Smith College in John M. Greene hall ... which filled every seat and overflowed onto windowsills.President Burton introduced him. Sujit Mukhopadhyay wrote;
"On an unscheduled visit to Smith College, Tagore ignored his repertoire of prepared speeches and talked instead about his school at Shantiniketan and what he hoped to achieve there"
the other sources said that it was not an unscheduled visit. Lastly he read some of his poems.
In New York State, Rabindranath met the audience in three places;
1. 10th Dec- Ithaca, NY
2. 11. Dec.,Carret Club, Buffalo,NY
3. 12th Dec,New Armsterdom
At last thousand persons were unable to gain admission to the New Armsterdom Theater.
He started for Pitsburg in Pensylvania state on the same day in the night.
