Bichitra and Rabindranath (contd-8)

Sita Devi  wrote;
" A small get together was arranged in Bichitra-Bhavan after the arrival of Rabindranath Tagore from abroad. Many songs were sung. At first the females sung the songs. After this Rabindranath sung two songs. Nothing more in the programme. Still there were many gossips. There was heavy arrangements of dinner and the guests enjoyed the items too.Brajendranath Sil was present in the meeting. After two or three days Rabindranath went to Shantiniketan.
Kampo Arai was taking drawing classes in Japanese method in Bichitra. At the same time he was doing his own painting. He wrote in his diary on 3rd July;
" I have drawn a picture on overlapping canvas. The painting of the summit of the Himalayas have just been completed. I gifted this canvas to Rabindranath Tagore." He wrote,  "the  sketches done by him of the Darjeeling were seen by Rabindranath, Abanindranath, Gaganendranath,and others in the night. The picture drawn by him on " Andher Surya Bandana" of Kanjan Shimomura was also shown."  
The welcome ceremony of Rabindranath by Manda-Club founded by Sukumar Roy was held on 4th July.Kalidas Nag wrote;
" The poet was clled for in our club. We discussed many topics and some new stories were also heard from the poet - " Payala Nambar" - the story continued till 1 A.M. "
In the  diary of Kampo Arai dated 7th July, it was written, 'Rabindranath went to Bolpore.
