Rabindranath reached Alwaye on 18th Nov at 1.30 pm. He was greeted at the Adwaita Ashram established by Sree Narayan guru. he inaugurated a new hostel of Union Christian College at 3.30 pm. In his lecture he praised the activities of the College and said that the college had some similarities with that of Viswabharati. "European countries have become eager about the about the activities of the Colleges of the East. He has taken the responsibility of union of hearts between India and the West. Andrews also delivered a lecture. Both of them planted two young plants of mango as a memorial of their arrival here. Some amount of contribution,the contributor was unwilling to expose his name, was handed over to Rabindranath. They left the place in the night and started for Tatapuram.
