In the afternoon of 20th March Rabindranath was offered a delicitation paper by the Bengalees of Karachi which was kept in the museum of Rabindrabhavan and a purse of Rs.251/-.
On 21st March he was offered a felicitation paper by the Karachi Municipality and Karachi municipality spent Rs.2000/- on this occasion. They arranged the welcome ceremony of Rabindranath in the spacious courtyard of Zoological Garden.. In reply to his reception he said,
" India has produced many poets in the past who have performed their mission very well and it was the duty of the present day poets of India to revive that mission which has no other than that of linking this country, in the bonds of love and unity, with the other countries of the world. "
He also delivered a lecture in the D.J.Sind College. He reminded that a few days ago Sir John Hubert Marshall and Rakhadas Bandypadhyay excavated Mohenjodaro and Garappa here which could claim a wonderful history of India.
On 22nd March he read an essay on " A vision of Indian History" in the Parl Opera House.
On 24th March he delivered a lecture before the ladies in the Theosophical Society Hall..
They started for Porbandar by sea from Karachi.
In porbandar Rabndranath received a contribution of Rs. 10,000/- and a promise of another Rs.5,000/-.
