Rabindranth was offered Knighthood (contd - 1)

This news being published innumerable telegrams and letters of greetings from different parts of the World within and outside India were being received by Rabindranath who too became tired in replying all the greetings. After a few days, 19June, he wrote to Pearson  :
' Letters letters everywhere never a moment to think. I am thanking, right and left, day and night, till my heart becomes black with ingratitude.'
Nagendranath wrote on 4th June,
Please accept my hearty greetings. After returning to Calcutta I shall differently. On the same day, his nephew Swayangprava's husband Ashwini Kumar Bandyopadhyay congratulated Rabindranath and commented, ' from harrasment by the CID to such a distinction, clearly show a change in the policy of the Government' and on 3rd June Byomkesh Chakraborty wrote, " shall I congratulate or condole with you; whichever you please ". Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay wrote a letter to Amal Home  on 16 Aug 1919 saying , 'one day C.R.Das informed me that he was wipping when he heard that Rabindranath accepted Nighthood offer.'
Dr. Rasbehari ghosh was also offered Nighthood title on the same day along with Rabindranth . An editorial was published in the Amrita Bazar Patrika on 5th june ;
" We must, however, confess that the pld familiar names Dr. Rashbehari and Rabi Babu sound sweeter in our ears than Sir rashbehari and Sir Rabindranath."
