Rabindranath in Japan (contd-6)

After this programme Rabindranath went to the School of Mrs. Cozad to meet the members of the Saturday Morning Club. It was a gathering of about 150persons which included some female members along with their husbands and friends.The chair person of the Club, Mrs Roy Smith gave an welcome address and Rabindranath read few paras from his recently finished English translation of the  drama
" Prakritir Pratishodh". Having read he also discussed about the themes of the drama . The news  paper wrote about the incident ,
"As regards his translation, he said that while it was true that some of the sense of the Bengali was lost in the transfer, it was in a way  a fresh incarnation of ideas, as each language has its peculiar beauties. He also answered some queries about his Asram made by the audience. At the end of the programme  Rev C.J.Bates voiced the thanks of the Company in appropriate terms . Many persons, he said, had for some time past been living in what he might describe as a Tagore atmosphere, and all were deeply grateful for the opportunity of meeting and hearing one to whom they owed so much. This is to be noted that the members of the club were discussing about the drammabefore the arrival of Rabindranath. In another club at Kobe the members arranged a meeting on this subject a few weeks earlier.
Raindranath translated 'Prakritir Pratishod' in English after addition and alterations..
