Balaka, Jyotirindranath Tagore

Jyotirindranath (1849-1925) was the 6th child and 5th son of Debendranath Tagore. Rabindranath called him  'Natun Dada'. He was also in favour of the freedom of women. His wife Kadambari was the first lady who went to the Maidan from Jorasanko on horse back. He had talent in instrumental music and art. In 1914 Rodenstein published a collection of his 25 oil paintings of which he wrote the introduction. In his essays written for Balaka he had drawn illustrations.
