When the train reached Tokyo station, the peoples assembled there got tensed. About twenty thousand persons assembled there to see Rabindranath Tagore. Pearson wrote;
" As soon as Gurudev got out of the train there were numerous explosions of magnesium lights which the representatives of various news papers burnt in order to take snapshots -- Old men and young were equally enthusiastic and with their cries of "Benzu" which is like ours "Hurray" they rushed round Gurudev.Yokorum tykanand Okakura YoshiaBuro, after lots of difficulties, made their way through the crowd to meet Rabindranath and his party and brought them into a two horses driven cart. They traveled through a path of about two miles to reach at the house of Tykan near Ueno Park. There he was greeted by the wife of Tykan and wife of Okakura Kakuza. Pearson wrote;
"... as soon as we entered it we felt that we had at last reached the heart of Japan after having experienced the modernised and westernised Japan which has all the worst qualities of rush and materialistic business about it. The contrast is so striking that it is difficult to understand how a people with such an inherent love for beautiful things can copy our Western ugliness and feel that they have got something which is worth having."
Rabindranath wrote;
" From now on we are going to know the hidden link of Japan which is incorporated in the 14 letters "Antarer Parychat",
