Rabindranath was at Silaidah in the month of Shrabana, 1316 but wrote only two songs. The first one on 29th Asharha, (13 July), 'Asharha sandhya ghaniye elo' (Gitanjali 11/19) mentioning the date and place of construction as ' Silaidah/29th Ashara/1316. The second one was ' Aaji Jharer raate tomar abhisar' (Gitanjali-11/19-20) written in the manuscript as Boat Padma/shrabana.

Ajit Kumar Chakraborty got cold at Darjeeling and did not get rid of at Santiniketan. He came to Silaidah for change of weather. Charuchandra Bandyopadhyaya also came to Silaidah, at that time, as a guest of Rabindranath. He wrote,
Once I went to Silaidah at the invitation of Rabindranath. He was staying on Bajra (big boat) on the bank of Padma. there were two Bajras. One was meant for Rabindranath to stay and the other was allotted for Ajit Kumar. I got my shelter with Ajit Kumar. Rabindranath arranged everything for me. In the evening there was rain with thunder.
