After the death of his wife Rabindranath wrote a letter to Priya Nath Sen. He described a sloka of Mahabharata which he described at least six times while writing a letter. This sloka he always tried to remember in time of any disaster. He got himself prepared to face all sorts of sorrows and sufferings of the world. He also wrote to Brajendrakishore Devmanikya that God had given him the woe and he would surely do something better through this sufferings. He expressed similar feeling to Mohit chandra Sen also and said that God would not misuse his bereavment. He would promote him from one class to the next higher class.
He wanted to do something to remember the death of his wife by doing a better deed. He asked Hirendranath Dutta to help one student in his study by a financial support of Rs 180 a year. He did not feel ashamed of asking this amount of money for a boy of his school.
He wrote similar letter to many of his friend but the result was unknown. Because once he sent a boy to one of his friend asking him in a letter to return the previous one if that did not have any effect. This is to be noted that the recipient kept both the letters.
