Rabindranath and Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay (1876-1938)

In the month of Jan 1924, an incident happened in which Sarat Chandra became disappointed with Rabindranath. He wrote "Shoroshi", the drama form of "Dena- Paona" novel written by him. He requested Rabindranath to write a few songs for "Shoroshi". In reply Rabindranath declined the proposal due to his illness. Being disappointed Sarat Chandra wrote him on 16th Jan, 1924
" We all know that you have no time in your multifacet activities. Still I thought that to write songs is just to talk you are doing always. Moreover, my book would have been successful by the inclusion of  your song."
Gopal Chandra Roy informed that Sarat Chandra got so much annoyed that he did not make a correspondence with Rabindranath.
