Rabindranath in Lucknau - 1923

Rabindranath wrote on 10th Feb to Atul Prasad Sen that he would be coming to Lucknau at the invitation of the Vice-Chancelloor Jnanendranath Chakraborty of Lucknau University as they had agreed to contribute to my Santiniketan fund.
Rabindranath went to Bombay from Lucknau.on 9thy Mar.He mentioned the letter written to the King to Atul Prasad;
"I must let you know how deeply I was touched by warm expression of sympathy with which you accepted appeal for Viswabharati. It was specially delighted me because of the rarity of my real understanding of its ideals which I find among my countrymen who almost rudely refuse to realise the true perpectives of their country's problems in the largest interest of humanity. Please accept my hearty thanks not only for the ready welcome you accorded to the ideals I beg to represent in my life's work but also because you had difficult respect for my personality not to hurt my cause with an impatient gesture of an indifferent charity made all the more conspicuous   by the high position which you and your peers in Oudh hold in India..
